KEYSTONE SERIES
Build depth. Create direction.
A SIMPLE SHAPE WITH A LOT TO WORK WITH.
Keystone Series was designed around a simple idea:
give setters a solid geometric element that can change the way a wall is read.
Its wedge-like structure creates depth and direction,
allowing setters to build movement around the volume rather than simply placing
another object on the wall.
The result is a volume that can become a feature, a transition,
or part of a much larger composition.
CHANGE THE WAY THE WALL MOVES.
Keystone can create different movement depending on how it is positioned.
Its changing surfaces and depth give setters room to create
directional movement, transitions and body positioning around the volume.
Use it to push movement away from the wall,
redirect a climber through a section,
or create a strong visual and physical feature within a route.
The geometry becomes part of the problem.
A DIFFERENT SURFACE. A DIFFERENT POSSIBILITY.
Keystone Series features a no-texture area on the upper surface.
This creates a new limitation for setters, but that limitation can also become
the starting point for new ideas.
The smooth surface changes how climbers interact with the volume,
opening up new possibilities for movement, sequencing and body positioning.
Use the no-texture zone as a restriction, a transition,
or an intentional part of the sequence.
Sometimes a new constraint is exactly what creates a new sequence.
ONE VOLUME. MANY POSSIBILITIES.
Keystone is not designed to dictate one specific use.
A single piece can act as a dominant feature,
while multiple sizes can be combined to create rhythm,
scale and visual flow across the wall.
Combine Keystone with other volumes and holds to create new relationships
between surfaces.
The same geometry can feel completely different depending on the wall angle,
surrounding volumes and route setting.
FROM A SINGLE FEATURE TO A LARGER STRUCTURE.
Three different sizes give setters control over scale and proportion.
Choose the size that fits the movement,
or combine different sizes to create a more layered composition.
DESIGN THE MOVEMENT.
Keystone gives setters another way to shape the wall.
KEYSTONE SERIES IN ACTION
Seoul Boulders — Seonyudo
Keystone Series was used at the 7th Boulder Madang
at Seoul Boulders Seonyudo.
DESIGNED FOR REAL WALLS.
In an actual setting environment, Keystone becomes more than
a large volume on the wall.
Its shape, depth and no-texture area give setters another element
to work with when creating movement and sequencing.
The final result depends on how the setter positions the volume,
connects it with surrounding holds and volumes,
and turns its limitations into part of the problem.
